Dorothy Appiah- Asare is fashion designer with over 8 years experience specializing in the design and production of millinery. Dorothy has excellent creativity and vision with an ample understanding of complex spatial reasoning and three-dimensional design. She has expertise in analysing fabric, trims and colours, as well as being up to date with the latest fashion trends. Dorothy has passion and keen eye for designs; she has designed and created hats, fascinators and other accessories for exclusive high-end businesses and designer fashion houses (Papa Oppong and Tutuwaa clothing, Kofi Owusu fashion house etc), worked and created individual creations for a one-off event or production including an international fashion show under the UN’s Ethical Fashion Initiative in Milan, Italy. (IED MODA 2014). Whiles working for GTP, She performed several roles including Laying of prepared patterns on piled fabric for cutting of garments in different sizes, Sewing of garments in different sizes, Appling a finish technique by netting to prevent the garment from fraying, Tagging of products for easy identification, Packaging of finished product. With her experience as a Milliner, She pays exceptional attention to details, very fluent in technical jargons and has excellent communication skills, Customer/Client Oriented, have very good analytical and problem-solving skills, focused, professional and passionate about her work She holds B.A in Fashion Design from Radford University College (October 2011-June 2015), and a West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) certificate from Ghana National College.
